The social media network firm has changed name from Facebook. It shall, henceforth, be callled Meta
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Facebook, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg, has publicly announced a change of name for Facebook to Meta.
Platforms Africa reports that Zuckerberg made this announcement on Thursday at the company’s Connect event.
The social media company’s “new name will be ‘Meta,’ he declared.

He expected millions of users of the three social media networks – Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to note “that Facebook (owner of the three Apps) has changed its name to ‘Meta'”
Platforms Africa reports that the name Meta is from Metaverse.
Although Facebook has changed its name to Meta as the Group Name, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp social media Applications (Apps) will continue operating in their respective brand names.
